Timothy L. Grush passed away unexpectedly on May 24th, 2015

Timothy L. Grush passed away unexpectedly on May 24th, 2015 in Ojai, California at the age of 64.

Tim is survived by his sons, Max and fiancée Ashley Almeida of Incline Village, Nevada and Alex and daughter-in-law Stevee of Ventura, California. He is also survived by his brother John and sister-in-law Cindy of Monrovia, California, sister Mary Fox and brother-in-law Michael Fox of Newport Beach, California, sister-in law Debra Grush of Carmel, Indiana and by nine nieces and nephews and by his dear friend, Maria Roth. He is preceded in death by his brother Dennis.

Tim was born on April 6th, 1951 in Altadena, California to L. John and Joyce L. Grush. He graduated from St. Francis High School in 1969 and from Oregon State University in 1973. After college, Tim remained in Oregon to work as a Legislative Aid to a State Senator. He later moved to Orange County, California where he went on to be active in California politics and worked for the Orange County Register. Tim and his family moved to Ventura County in 1989 and for the last seven years was the Director of Marketing for At Home in Ojai, a senior assisted living community, where he greatly enjoyed working with its residents.

Tim loved the town of Ojai where he lived for 24 years and was a great student of its history and that of the Ventura area. He always looked forward to his one hour of Eucharistic Adoration every Thursday evening for the last twelve years at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. In his younger years Tim was an avid Civil War buff and an accomplished high school linebacker. Tim was also fond of his 1966 Austin Healey Sprite, which he never parted with.

Tim was a loving and devoted father to Max and Alex and was blessed to be able to participate in Alex and Stevee’s wedding just two months ago and to celebrate Max’s recent engagement. Tim, with his warm and engaging nature, will be greatly missed by his loved ones.

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Friday June 19, 2015 at 11:30 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, 185 St. Thomas Drive, Ojai, CA 93023. Interment will be private.
